My Daddy, Delbert Clarence Jewell told me his grandparents sailed from England to New Orleans then took a wagon to Anahuac east of Houston. From there his parents went further into Texas to Brady and settled on a farm. Along the way - he was born at their home in Cuero, TX. He had an older brother, Eli, born Nov. 16, 1903, then Inez, b.July 22, 1907; then Ray, b. Oct. 14, 1910; then Marvin Lee, b. Aug. 1917; then W. H., b. Nov. 19, 1919; then Aurese (Lucky), b. Apr. 1924.

There is a Jewell Cemetary near Deleon, TX but when I asked at a local store they thought it was named after a small settlement by that name that no longer exists.

If anyone has any info on the Jewell family in Texas or Louisiana,please let me know. Thank you.
