Humphrie was the fifth child of George and Johan Jewell. According to information taken from the International Genealogy Index (I.G.I.), Humphrie was baptised 14th February 1602, in Marhamchurch, Cornwall England. Later Humprie married a Jone (unfortunately I have not been able to establish her surname, or when and where they were married). According to the I.G.I. Humphrie and Jone had 5 children. All showing as being baptised in Marhamchurch, Cornwall, England. They were;

William Jewell	- baptised 27th March 1631
Grace Jewell	- baptised 29th April 1632
Avis Jewell	- baptised 20th April 1634
Joane Jewell	- baptised 14th May 1637
Nicholas Jewell	- baptised 27th August 1644
