William Jewell was the first child of William Jewell and Jane Moyle, and was baptised on the 8th January 1769, in the Parish of Wendron.

On the 24th February 1784, William married Mary Chigwiden, in the Parish of Wendron. Accoring to the I.G.I., they had 5 children, all shown as being baptised in the Parish of Wendron They were;

Mary Jewell	- baptised 15th August 1784
Catherine Jewell	- baptised 16th April 1786
Jane Jewell	- baptised 11th November 1787
William Jewell	- baptised 14th February 1790
James Jewell	- baptised 8th September 1793
