William Jenkin was the third child of Sussanah Jewell and William Jenkin, and was baptised on 14th June 1789, in the Parish of Wendron.

According to the I.G.I., William married Honor Barret Lawrence on the 16th April 1811, in Redruth Cornwall. Honor was baptised on the 27th November 1792, and her parents are listed as John and Agnes Lawrence. A further search of the I.G.I., has discovered that William and Honor had 4 children, all showing as being baptised in Redruth. They were;

John Lawrence Jenkin	- baptised 3rd Feruary 1813
Alfred Jenkin	- baptised 6th February 1815
Emma Jenkin	- baptised 2nd February 1817
Mary Lawrence Jenkin	- baptised 2nd January 1820
