John Moyle was the fourth child of Thomas Moyle and Jane Jewell, and was baptised on the 20th June 1802, in the Parish of Wendron.

According to the I.G.I., John married Catharine Collins on the 12th April 1827, in the Parish of Wendron. A subsequent search has also discovered that John and Catherine had 7 children. They were;

Mary Moyle	- born 17th May 1828
Catharine Moyle	- born 18th November 1832
Thomas Moyle	- born 29th December 1833
Mathew Moyle	- born 1841
James Moyle	- born 1843
Elizabeth Moyle	- born 1846
Frances Moyle	- born 1847
