John Odgers was the third child of Mary Jewell and Allen Odgers, and was baptised on the 25th December 1771, in the Parish of Wendron.

A search of the I.G.I., has found that John married Elyabeth (Elizabeth?) Reed on the 28th July 1792, in the Parish of St Ithians. I also discovered that Elyabeth was baptised on the 4th July 1771, also in the Parish of St Ithians. Her parents were recorded as Richard and Susanna Reed.

Another search of the I.G.I., discovered that John and Elyabeth had 4 children, all shown as being baptised in the Parish of St Ithians. They were;

John Odgers	- baptised 2nd December 1792
Barber Odgers	- baptised 26th October 1794
John Odgers	- baptised 14th January 1798
Thomas Odgers	- baptised 1st Septemeber 1799
