Catherine Jewell was the fifth child of Absolam Jewell and Sarah Tregonning, and was baptised on the 6th August 1786, in the Parish of Wendron.

According to the I.G.I, there is a record of a Catherine marrying Geroge Niles on the 10th December 1807, in Blisland Cornwall. George Niles was the son of Philip and Jane Niles, and is shown as being baptised on the 13th March 1774.

A further search of the I.G.I., has found that Catherine and George had 5 children;

Richard Niles	- baptised 25th August 1811
Mary Niles	- baptised 7th November 1813
George Niles	- baptised 30th December 1815
Catherine Niles	- baptised 29th March 1818
John Niles	- baptised 30th March 1823
