According to my research to date, Absolam could have been either the third child of Absolam Jewell and Catherine Davies, and was baptised on the 28th October 1750, in the Parish of Wendron or was the seventh child of Mathias Jewell and Grace Pedler, and was baptised on the 23rd June 1754.
Depite this I am certain that one of them married married Sarah Tregonning on the 5th of December 1773, in the Parish of Wendron. Sarah Tregonning was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Tregonning, and she was baptised on the 3rd December 1750, also in the Parish of Wendron. According to the I.G.I. Absolam and Sarah had 5 children , all showing as being baptised in the Parish of Wendron. They were;
